Graffiti Week is perhaps one of the most looked-forward to events on the Douglas County calendar. For 30 years this event has galvanized local residents who eagerly await the public and private events that allow them to showcase their cars, bikes, and trucks.
The News-Review in conjunction with our sponsor Associated Benefits recognizes the hard work and dedication involved in the restoration or customization of a work of art/piece of history like an automobile. That's why we want you to upload that one amazing photo that represents all your years of hard work and share your pride and joy with the rest of us.
We have divided the submission groups up into three different categories. These are Pre 1942, 1942-1963, and 1964 to the present day.
So, register today (if you haven't already registered for some of our previous contests), upload your photo into the corresponding submission group and then when its approved, go and vote for it! It's that simple! While you're at it, cast a vote in each of the 3 groups, then come back every day and cast another vote in each category because you can vote once per day for the length of the contest.
You can enter once only but make sure all your friends and relatives know you've entered and get them to cast their votes as well!.
Anyone who owns a classic, restored or customized vehicle can submit a photo and then vote. This is their moment in the sun. The only stipulation is the winners of each category must be available in person (or through a designated proxy) to receive their awards during the Graffiti Week events. Anybody can register to vote.
Absolutely. As long as it is still within the submission and voting period you can register, upload your image and vote! The contest voting opens on Monday 27th June and closes at midnight on Sunday 3rd July.
Send the image to our WebMaster - dherber@nrtoday.com along with your contact information (Name, Phone Number, Address) and ask him to upload it for you. If you supply an email address he'll then send you an email to let you know its there and you can cast your vote. Remember that your entry will also need a title and a description, and you'll need to specify which submission group the image is to be placed in.
If you don't have email, you can send the image to the News-Review, 345 NE Winchester, Roseburg OR 97470. Mark your envelope "Graffiti Weekend Photo Contest" and if you want the photo returned, please include a stamped self-addressed envelope.
Yes. The winner of each of the three submission categories (the entry with the most votes) will receive a trophy, and the top 4 finishers after the three winners will all receive Honorable Mention certificates. In addition, all trophy and certificate winners will be published in the News-Review on Thursday 7th July.
Trophies are available for view at our Sponsor's location.
